Privacy Policy

FAMIVO helps families organise health information, including medications, reminders, documents, appointments, and emergency details. That information is sensitive, and we treat it that way. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, where it lives, and the control you keep over it.

FAMIVO is currently operated by its founder, Akshay H T (“we”, “us”), reachable at support@famivo.in.

1. What we collect

• Account data: your phone number (used for OTP login), name, and optional email.
• Family structure: the family group you create or join, member roles, and invitations.
• Health data you enter: patient profiles (name, age, relation), medications and schedules, dose taken/skipped records, appointments, emergency information (blood group, allergies, conditions, contacts, doctor details), and documents you upload.
• Device data for reminders: a push-notification token for each device you log in on, so medication reminders can reach your phone.
• Feedback: anything you send through the in-app feedback form, with basic app/platform info to help us debug.

We do not collect your location, contacts, browsing history, or advertising identifiers. The website uses no advertising trackers.

2. Why we collect it

• To run the product: schedules, reminders, shared family views, document storage.
• To deliver medication reminders to the responsible family member’s device.
• To keep a permanent dose history (taken / skipped) so your family, and if you choose your doctor, can see what actually happened.
• To secure accounts (OTP verification, rate limiting, session management).
• To fix bugs and improve the beta, using the feedback you send us.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. Ever.

3. Who can see your family’s data

Only members of your family group, according to the roles your family admin assigns (admin, caregiver, member, viewer). Role permissions are enforced on our servers, not just in the app. Nobody outside your family group can see your health data, and other FAMIVO families cannot see it either.

4. Where your data lives

Data is stored in MongoDB Atlas (encrypted at rest) and served through our backend hosted on Railway. Push notifications are delivered via Expo and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging; these services handle delivery of the notification text (for example, a medicine name) but have no access to your stored health records. We use these providers as processors; none of them may use your data for their own purposes.

5. How long we keep it

• Health records and dose history: for as long as your account exists, so your history stays useful to you.
• OTP codes: minutes (they expire automatically).
• Push tokens: removed when you log out, and automatically expired after 90 days of inactivity.
• Scheduler working data: automatically deleted after 90 days; your permanent dose history is kept separately.

6. Your rights

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act, 2023) you can:

• Access: ask what data we hold about you.
• Correct: fix anything inaccurate (most data you can edit directly in the app).
• Erase: ask us to delete your account and data. During the beta, email us at support@famivo.in and we will delete your data within 7 days. In-app account deletion is coming before public launch.
• Withdraw consent: stop using the app and request erasure at any time.

Grievances: write to support@famivo.in with “Privacy” in the subject. We respond within 7 working days.

7. Children

FAMIVO accounts are for adults (18+). A child’s health information may be managed as a patient profile by their parent or lawful guardian, that guardian is responsible for that data and can remove it at any time.

8. Beta status

FAMIVO is in closed beta. Features, and this policy, will evolve. If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
